Gitty’s 2025 Trip to Cat Island Lodge
As we prepare for the 2026 season, we’re reflecting on some of the unforgettable moments from last season- and Gitty Landrum’s trip in Summer 2025 is one we won’t forget!
From the moment she arrived, it was clear this was going to be something special.
“Our trip to Cat Island Lodge was beyond anything we expected,” Gitty shared. “From the moment we arrived, Clayson greeted us with a warm welcome and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect.”
Out on the water, the fishing delivered in a big way- and the photos she shared say it all. Smiles stretched wide across the bow of the boat, lake trout held proudly against endless Northern Ontario water. The kind of catches you replay in your mind long after the trip is over.
With Gordon as their guide, the experience went beyond just catching fish.
“The fishing was phenomenal, and our guide, Gordon, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a joy to spend time with.”
And of course- no Cat Island trip is complete without shore lunch. Fresh fish, prepared right on the water, enjoyed in the quiet of the Canadian wilderness. It’s a tradition that turns a great fishing day into something unforgettable.
But Cat Island is more than just the fishing. Another moment she captured? A black bear swimming calmly across the water. Wildlife encounters like that aren’t staged or planned- they’re simply part of being immersed in true wilderness. Gitty’s photos capture the peaceful stillness the lodge has to offer perfectly- the wildlife, the dock stretching into glassy water at sunset, and boats resting quietly after a full day on the lake.
Back at the lodge, evenings are just as memorable as the days on the lake. “Sheila truly outdid herself with delicious meals every day, and the accommodations far exceeded what you’d expect from a fishing lodge.” From golden sunsets reflecting across the lake to wildlife along the shoreline and unforgettable days on the water, Gitty’s trip perfectly captures what makes a summer at Cat Island Lodge so special.
“It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.”
Thank you, Gitty, for sharing your story- and for letting us relive a little bit of Summer 2025 through your lens.
We can’t wait to see what stories 2026 will bring.
